Today we're kicking off a new interview series with currently active Rookgaard players. The interviews will be short, no more than ten questions regarding the game or the player. Jedy nak from Antica agreed to be our first victim, so let's jump straight into it!
Hi, Jedynak. We're glad you agreed to answer our questions, so let's get started - tell us a little about yourself and the genesis of your nickname.
Jedy nak: Hi, I'm Jedynak. I live in the Netherlands for the past 6 years and I was able to slowly start a new life here. The idea for my nickname came from the slim, separately packed polish sausages called "Jedynak" (yes, I do have a sister who found out my nickname one day and got upset...) ("Jedynak" also means "a single child" in polish - ed. note)
Lately the situation on Rook got heated when a few high-profile accounts were deleted, including yours. What do you think about CipSoft's decision?
Jedy nak: I'm not gonna lie, I was a little surprised about the deletions, especially since in 2014 we had a similar situation and nobody was punished, even CipSoft themselves said that Rookgaard is a "legacy area". Taking into account that it was, in fact, bug abuse, I have to admit that the deletion was justified. It's a shame nothing more happened to fix the situation than a few account deletions though :P
How come you started playing a new character the moment the old one got frozen? And why Antica again?
Jedy nak: I created my new Rookstayer Jedy Nak (now level 40+) because I like Rookgaard and wandering around on it. Hunting is my form of meditation 😛 it's calming. It doesn't mean I won't burn out in a week and quit Tibia for the following months or years though, but I'll always be playing here or there. You can't quit Tibia ^^ and why Antica? Well, I'm a leader of a guild here called Buy Mace (to which I hereby invite every Antican Rookstayer), I have my friends here, and also, you know, it's Antica 😛 the server of many mysteries.
What were the most interesting Rookgaard mysteries you've heard?
Jedy nak: Sunrise's Buttersword 😛 you really can't top that.
Did you ever imagine how Maze of Fury would look like?
Jedy nak: Hard to say. To be honest, I never thought about that. I was more into investigating the Spike Sword and I even found a couple things myself, such as the Spike Sword shaped map at Goblin Hell or a Marlin-like fish that took up the entire screen just next to the Spike Sword island.
What would be your pick - Houses or Depos on Rookgaard?
Jedy nak: Houses of course, they can also serve as depos :P
Jedy nak: There was a glitch lately that caused houses in a new city (I think it was Marapur?) to be wiped after server save. People fought a couple weeks to get their stuff back, and when it finally happened CipSoft sent all the lost items to the owners' depos. The issue is that some of the items were never meant to enter depos and were Store only items (such as NPCs) and they can be traded even though they shouldn't be. Just CipSoft's competences ^^
Three golden rules by Jedynak. Improvise.
Jedy nak: 1. As a new Rookstayer start Rookie Guard Quest before level 6 and don't finish the last mission so you can access Orc Fortress.
Jedy nak: 2. I wholeheartedly recommend unlocking the "Adrenaline Burst" charm before Rooking your character - it's a ton of fun. There's also a guide how to do it on your forum (available only in Polish - ed. note) ^^
Jedy nak: 3. If you want to gain levels efficiently and fast, the key is to burn green stamina regularly and hunting as much as possible during events.. I am currently the record holder for the fastest level 100 on Rookgaard so I know what I'm talking about xD Speaking of that, I don't think I would ever repeat that (but I hope someone takes up the challenge and tries to beat my time).
What do you think about sound in Tibia?
Jedy nak: A strong 8/10 for me. I never realised I needed sound in Tibia for so many years, but I think it can get annoying in mainland with so much going on on the screen.
There were no Rookgaard fansites in the programme for the past two years. Do you have any thoughts about that?
Jedy nak: Honestly, I liked Rookie.com.pl in the old layout (I loved the screenshots). It's hard to get used to the new look. I never thought you'd come back, it took you some time :P
