This is the third edition of our Rookgaard screenshot comparison! Over the years, this unique corner of Tibia has undergone many changes, though some elements have remained intact, preserving its nostalgic atmosphere. We decided to take a closer look at the most interesting and significant locations, which have captured the attention of both newcomers and seasoned explorers for decades. What has changed, and what has remained the same? Join us on a journey through Rookgaard – a place full of mysteries and surprises!
We start this third edition with something that has remained unchanged for years. The famous "Stonehenge" on Rookgaard, attributed to the orcs, has stood unaltered for a long time. Only the surrounding environment – trees and bushes – has undergone changes. What do you think? Is this really the work of orcs, or perhaps some ancient civilization from outside Tibia?
Another spot to explore is the underground tunnels north of Rookgaard, leading to Mino Hell. These caves are especially favored by trolls. Some changes have been introduced here – certain corridors have been expanded, decorative elements added, and the walls have been renovated.
Hyacinth, who sells healing potions, resides in the eastern part of Rookgaard. For a recluse who chose to live in the wilderness close to nature, it’s hard to imagine how he used to operate. It’s clear that his surroundings have become greener – berries grow there, among other plants, and a new chest has appeared inside.
The bug cave leading to the western part of the island has not seen major modifications. The most noticeable differences are in the new textures of the bugs themselves.
Rookgaard's sewers were the first place where beginner Tibia players faced their initial monsters. Thanks to updated textures, the environment has gained depth, especially near the edge of the sewers. A large stone has appeared near the ladder, along with additional planks on the walkway.
The famous room of Tom, which no one has yet managed to enter (at least as far as we know), also hasn’t undergone any major changes – in fact, there are no changes other than new textures. Does Tom actually use this room?
The entrance to Rotworm Hell has new partitions, forcing players to pass through an area full of rotworms. The tunnels have been slightly widened, and some rubble has been moved aside. It’s hard to recall this view from earlier versions of the game. What about you?
Lastly, a bonus – a comparison of three versions of the game, specifically the view from the entrance to Rookgaard's northern underground. Over time, the amount of rubble and excavation has decreased. The atmosphere of the entrance has been preserved, and even improved. The new walls look fantastic, and the entire area has been better integrated with the surroundings, creating a cohesive look.
This concludes our article exploring the hidden corners of Rookgaard. Not every game update brings new changes, yet those that have been implemented have preserved the soul of this legendary island. For many players, these places are more than just pixels – they are memories, emotions, and challenges that accompanied them from their earliest days in Tibia. We hope that our comparison allowed you to rediscover and appreciate Rookgaard with fresh eyes. See you in future editions, where we’ll explore other unique areas of this amazing world!
Best regards,
